(SNT) NDT Level 1 & Level 2 Training and Certifications

Non-destructive testing is used in the metal industry and science in order to evaluate the properties of a wide variety of material without causing damage or reducing the integrity of test material. Some of the common NDT techniques are Ultrasonic, Magnetic, Liquid Penetrant, Radiography, Eddy Current and Visual.

This courses meets the requirements of SNT-TC-1A to provides a thorough grounding in the principles of Non-destructive testing and the fundamentals of engineering, materials and components, such that the technician will be able to:

Identify the suitability of NDT method for all materials and inspection applications.
Provide analysis of inspection data and documenting results of the analysis.
Be familiar with regulatory codes and specifications for eddy current testing and their intent.

Ultrasonic Test

Ultrasonic test is an inspection method that uses high frequency sound energy to conduct examinations and make measurements.

Sensitive to surface & sub-surface discontinuities
Superior in depth of penetration
Can be performed from only one-sided access

Magnetic Test

MT uses magnetic fields leakage  and small magnetic particles (i.e. iron filings) to detect flaws in components.

Sensitive to surface & near-surface discontinuities
It is quick and relatively uncomplicated
It gives immediate indication of defects
