Penetrant Test

Liquid Penetrant Test is a method that is used to reveal surface breaking flaws by bleed out of a colored or fluorescent dye from the flaw..

Very Sensitive, capable of finding fine flaws
Can be used on magnetic and non-magnetic materials
Portable and no power supply required

Eddy current Test

Eddy current inspection is one of several NDT methods that use the principal of electromagnetism as the basis for conducting examinations.

Sensitive to small cracks and other defects
Able to detect surface & near surface defect
Paint removal is not required

Radiographic Film Interpretation

In addition to producing high quality radiographs, the radiographer must also be skilled in radiographic interpretation.

Interpretation of radiographs takes place in three basic steps ;

Detection
Interpretation
Evaluation

Visual Test

Visual inspection relies upon the detection of surface imperfections using the eye. It is nrmally applied without the use of any additional equipment, however VT can be improved by using aids such as magnifying glasses, mirrors, or borescopes/videoscopes to gain access and closer inspection of the subjected area to improve its effectiveness.

with this visual test, the following work can be done:

Coating Inspection
Welding Inspection
Surface integrity
